A New Way to Submit Photos to the AMHR

Terrible for me, Terrible for our Earth and A big waste of money. I was gripping to Tara about this picture thing. She said that nobody she know does the real picture thing anymore. It is very costly and very time consuming for all involved and the amount of money for this ink is crazy. Also those cartridges are terrible for the environment. She said that there should be a form on our website were you put your four little pictures fill out your name and information and the name of the horse and push send and off it goes to your file at office. There it sits until your money and registration papers are handled. She said very simple program and very cost effective. The pictures are already on file and don’t have to be scanned.

Blog Post - Idea for the Upcoming 2011 AMHR Nationals…

This is what I have ready to send to the directors. Do you guys think it sounds okay? Dear AMHR Directors,
I am asking if you could officially declare this year -2011- our 25th National Year so that we can officially have a cake. I am also proposing that we auction off the 2011 National Premium Book, (front and back cover) to make money for the cake. If you can’t put the money towards one specific purpose I suggest it goes towards any National Expenses. I don’t care as long as we get cake. I love cake. Renee LaBarre Reiten

Blog Post - The Last Train to Morton – The Gravy Train

I’ve got a thing about trains. I like watching them, whether it is a freight train with a long line of tankers or grain cars or a passenger train. I always listen for the morning Amtrak whistle.
I love the old depots with their functional architecture and cobble stone walkways. I loved the old hotels that usually were across the street from the depots, they seemed so fancy. Even the train stations in the smaller towns, seemed a special, and the depot agent so official. I remember my grandparents dressing up in their very best to ride the train. They would talk about the diner car like it was the most elegant restaurant in the world. The railways were so much a part of who and what Americans were... Read More about the Gravy Train

Blog Post - North Dakota…

Hi out there, my name is Renee LaBarre Reiten and I thought you might like to know a little more about where I call home. I live on the Reiten family farm in northern North Dakota, USA. We are sometimes mistakenly thought of as a small Canadian Provence, but we are a state.
Our State is very sparsely populated and very conservative and very rich. Our state has so much money that we don’t know what to do with it. The reason we have so much money in our treasury is because we are very tight... Read More about North Dakota

Blog Post - Dusty Old & New Friends – The Journals…

Well, it’s that time of year again. The Lucky Hart annual attempt at closet cleaning time. The dust bunnies are a flying. Unlike some friends of mine, I go into this knowing that I will not discover anything of value stuck back there in the corners with the cobwebs, but it doesn’t matter I never get to the corners. I just end up taking a trip down memory lane and then when it gets so messy that I can’t walk anymore, I shove it all back in for next year.
I am sort of in the middle of the horse stuff closet now. I am in, I guess what you could call the, “The Miniature Magazine Stacks” area. There lies my problem, Journals, Worlds, Showcases, all over the floor. I cannot pick up even one of them, especially the Journals, without paging though it and remembering occasions, horses and friends... Read more about The AMHR Journal Magazine.
